4K 60Hz 18G 444 Commercial-Grade HDMI Cables - CL3/FT4 Rated

Choosing an HDMI Cable

The cable is where many 4K and 8K systems fail, so a commercial-grade HDMI cable matters as much as the electronics. Key Digital HDMI cables are built and tested for full-bandwidth performance and are CL3/FT4 rated for in-wall installation, unlike typical consumer cables.

For 4K systems, the KD-Pro series (for example the KD-Pro16 at 16ft and KD-Pro20 at 20ft) carries the full 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 18Gbps signal. For 8K and high-frame-rate 4K, the Ultra High Speed KD-Pro8K series (KD-Pro8K3BX, KD-Pro8K6BX, KD-Pro8K10BX) supports 8K 48Gbps.

Choose by bandwidth (18Gbps for 4K, 48Gbps for 8K) and by length, and prefer a CL3/FT4 rated cable for any in-wall run. For distances beyond a passive cable, use a Key Digital active optical HDMI fiber cable or an HDMI over CAT6 extender. An authorized Key Digital dealer can match the cable to your resolution and run length.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an 18Gbps and a 48Gbps HDMI cable?

An 18Gbps HDMI cable carries full 4K 60Hz 4:4:4. A 48Gbps Ultra High Speed HDMI cable adds the bandwidth for 8K and high-frame-rate 4K. Match the cable to the resolution your system needs.

What does CL3/FT4 rated mean?

CL3 (US) and FT4 (Canada) are fire ratings that allow a cable to be run inside walls. Key Digital commercial-grade HDMI cables are CL3/FT4 rated for in-wall installation.

How long can an HDMI cable run?

Passive HDMI cables are reliable to roughly 15 to 20 feet at 4K. For longer runs, use a Key Digital active optical HDMI fiber cable or an HDMI over CAT6 extender instead of a passive copper cable.

Which cable do I need for 8K?

For 8K, use an Ultra High Speed 48Gbps HDMI cable such as the Key Digital KD-Pro8K series. An 18Gbps cable is sufficient for 4K 60Hz but not full 8K.
